I have three favorite bands. One I unfortunatly will not get to photograph, Rush. One I have photographed once, but it was from the far away soundboard as my first post Covid show, Foo Fighters
The other is King's X, a band I have loved since I was in high school. I was able to photograph them in 2018 at Reggie's in Chicago, but let's just say my skills were "lesser", and I wanted to get the chance again.
I not only got the chance, but minutes before they went on at the High Noon Saloon, I got word that I could take pictures the whole show from right up front! Typically we only get the first three songs.
It was wonderful, not only because the band was noticeably having fun, and I was having a blast, but also because King's X is still on top of their game! In addition to hearing old favorites again, they played over half of their 2022 album "Three Sides Of One", and those songs sound amazing live.
Between this and an event the day before, I drove 18 hours over three days. Totally worth it. See them if you have the chance.
